What to use

To create more speed into a behaviour you are teaching for example a recall or a spin, use high value treats.

When teaching more stationary behaviours like a sit or down, use low value treats to keep them calm, this will also help you to build duration.

If in a distracting environment, using high value treats will help keep your dog more focused on you.

Preference test your pet. See which treats they find higher value - Every dog is different!

Some dogs don't find low value treats enough so may need higher value treats.

Rewards are used to reinforce behaviours that we like and we want to repeat.
